Confirmation @ KOG
What is Confirmation? It’s a chance to dive-deep into the Holy Scriptures, dive-deep into friendships with others in the body of Christ, and dive-deep into the questions you have about life, faith, and the church.
|
When is Confirmation?Confirmation meets on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 from September thru February. **If you cannot meet on Wednesday nights due to a recurring conflict, please speak to Pr. Jen about other options.
|
Who is Confirmation for?Confirmation classes usually happen in the 7th and 8th grade (2 years of instruction). However, occasionally this isn't possible, so we welcome all to participate with us! Most students choose to celebrate the Confirmation Milestone in the fall of their 9th grade year.

Confirmation has four parts:
WORSHIP. This is where we hear God's Word announced to us! We ask that Confirmation families regularly attend worship. While in worship you will complete 10 worship/sermon notes a year. Additionally, you will be asked to be a worship assistant (usher, greeter, communion assist, scripture reader) at least once throughout the year.
INTEGRATION. We don't simply want you to know about Christ - we want you to encounter Christ in your life! Throughout the year we will have opportunities for you to integrate what you're learning in classes, experiencing in worship, and wrestling with in your life. We encourage you to participate in these offerings! |
CLASSES. Confirmation is a teaching ministry of the church. This is where we study the Scriptures and Luther's Small Catechism. We ask that Confirmation students attend classes regularly. If you have a sports or activity conflict, please let Pastor Jen know that you will be absent. If you miss more than one class per month, you will be asked to attend a makeup class. If Wednesday nights don't work for your schedule, please contact Pr. Jen to talk about other options to participate.
SUMMER. Confirmation Camp happens @ Christikon every summer for incoming 7th-9th graders. It's a special week of getting our hands dirty, exploring God's creation, and talking about faith and life. Be sure to make plans to join us - as we intend for this to be a part of our Confirmation experience. |
